Call to Order – The meeting was called to order by Mary Minnick, Chair at 10:01 a.m.
⦁ Mary Minnick, Chair led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
⦁ In addition, Cathy Willermet, Isabella County read the Land Acknowledgment Statement.
⦁ Guest Speaker
⦁ Michael Lynch, Candidate for 2nd Congressional District.
Michael thanked everyone who had returned his petitions with signatures. He talked about meeting folks in the district to talk about the country and the region. ⦁ A Quorum was deemed present.
⦁ It was moved by Mark Everhart, Lake County and seconded by Michael Lynch, Isabella County to ACCEPT THE AGENDA WITH THE ADDITION OF INCREASED RENT FOR WHEATON TOWNSHIP HALL UNDER NEW BUSINESS. MOTION CARRIED.
⦁ There were no corrections to the Minutes of the Previous Meeting, it was moved by Mark Everhart and seconded by Karen Turnbull TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.
⦁ Chair’s Report
Mary Minnick, Chair stated because of time constraints, her Chair’s Report could be found on the 2nd Congressional District Website https://www.michigan2nddemocrats.com/.
⦁ Vice Chair’s Report

⦁ Treasurer’s Report
Dallas Dean, Treasurer Newaygo County reported the balances of the Federal, State, Administrative, and Texas Hold ‘em Accounts. The State Account had a balance of $1,178.86, the Administrative Account had a balance of $114.41, the Federal Account had a balance of $7,546.69 and the Texas Hold’em had a balance of $17,404.40. It was moved by Mark Everhart, Lake County and seconded by Robin Alaskon, Mason County TO ACCEPT THE FINANCE REPORT AND TO PAY ALL BILLS. MOTION CARRIED.
⦁ Secretary’s Report
Peggy Raddatz, Secretary Manistee County stated she had received Thank Yous from White Lake Futures Democratic Party, MI Rural PAC, and the MDP Rural Caucus for moneys received.
⦁ Committee Reports
⦁ Rules and Bylaws Committee – Dallas Dean, Newaygo County, Committee Chair stated there was no report at this time.
⦁ Finance and Fundraising Committee – Dallas Dean, Newaygo County, Committee Chair stated the Fall Gala will be Saturday, September 28th to be held at the Riverwood Resort 1313 E Broomfield Rd, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858. Preparations are being made to send materials to the printer. In addition, they are planning an Ice Cream Social between the Convention and the District Meeting May 11th.
⦁ Candidate Recruitment and Support Committee – Ed Miller, Mason County, Committee Chair had been ill, therefore there was no report at this time.
⦁ Political and 2nd CD Party Organizing Committee – Cathy Willermet, Isabella County and Karen Turnbull, Mecosta County gave an excellent Powerpoint presentation about how we can come together to defeat Moolenaar and elect Michael Lynch. They are looking for people or organizations with skill sets, or resources they could share with others. Such as the Isabella Democratic Party just developed a new website and are willing to show others how to do the same. https://www.isabellacountydemocraticpartymichigan.net/ If you have such resources or skill sets to share, please contact Cathy Willermet or Karen Turnbull. In addition, they are requesting one person from each county join their Team.
⦁ Communications Committee – Mary Minnick, Lake County, Committee Chair reported she had updated the website with current information including State Central Committee’s location and time.
⦁ Policy and Resolution Committee – John Helge, Manistee County presented a Resolution for consideration. (See attached.). It was moved by K.P. Mahoney, Muskegon County, and seconded by Karen Turnbull, Mecosta County TO ACCEPT THE RESOLUTION. MOTION CARRIED.
⦁ Audit Committee – Robin Alaskon, Mason County stated there was no report at this time.
Unfinished Business –

⦁ New Business –
Peggy Raddatz, Manistee County, noted that with the donation of $1,000 to the Rural Summit, come four free tickets. She moved and Mark Everhart seconded THAT THE LEADERS OF THE WEXFORD AND OSCEOLA COUNTY PARTIES EACH REACH TWO OF THE FREE TICKETS TO DISTRIBUTE AS THEY SEE FIT. MOTION CARRIED ONE ABSTENTION.
Dallas Dean, Newaygo County, brought up the fact the rent had increased on the Wheaton Township Hall for the remainder of the year by $50. It was moved by Ed Miller and seconded by Mark Everhart TO PAY THE INCREASE IN RENT FOR THE WHEATON TOWNSHIP HALL. MOTION CARRIED.
