Michigan Delegate Selection Plan For the 2024 Democratic National Convention

Forms are now available for Democrats in Michigan who want to be delegates for the 2024 National Convention! https://michigandems.com/national-convention-information/ is your hub for all information on the delegate selection process and where forms can be found. As a reminder, we need a "wet signature" on the application so we are unable to accept digital submissions, we must have physical forms. Below is the information from the MDP website regarding delegate forms. 
 

1. Find the form HERE and fill it out
   • Applicant Information should match your voter registration information
   • Demographic Information is self-reported; please check ALL that apply
   • You may check more than one delegate position in the delegate Candidate Declaration section
   • You may select only one option in the presidential candidate Candidate Declaration section
2. Print the form, sign, and date it
3. Mail the form to Michigan Democratic Party at 606 Townsend, Lansing, MI 48933, be mindful of deadlines
   • 5:00 pm on April 11, 2024 for District-Level Delegate
   • 5:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2024 for Party Leader and Elected Official (PLEO) Delegate, at-Large Delegate, or At-Large Alternate
4. Once received, we’ll reach out to the email provided with a confirmation

We also have more delegate selection trainings scheduled for those who need more information. These trainings explain the delegate selection process and how Democrats across Michigan can participate. If you would like to schedule a training for your local unit, please reach out to [email protected] to set that up. All upcoming trainings will populate on THIS page on Mobilize, but the two currently on the calendar are:

• January 24th at 6:30 PM

Following up on the announcement of the MDSCC's next meeting on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Lansing, we would like to draw your attention to the below press release announcing the beginning of the MDP's Delegate Selection Plan public comment period. 

You can find the draft Delegate Selection Plan on the MDP website and linked in the release below. 

The MDSCC will consider approval of this plan at its April 29th meeting.

Michigan Democratic Party Releases Delegate Selection Plan for 2024 National Convention

LANSING -- The Michigan Democratic Party announced today its Delegate Selection Plan for the 2024 Democratic National Convention along with a 30-day public comment period.

The plan formally describes the process of how the Michigan Democratic Party will select its delegates for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. During the 30-day comment period, the public can submit comments, questions, and concerns regarding the plan.

After the 30-day public comment period has completed, the Delegate Selection Plan will be submitted to the Michigan Democratic State Central Committee for final revisions and submission to the Democratic National Convention Committee for review and approval.

Michigan’s Democratic presidential primary will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
