March 2024 Report from John Helge 2nd CD Committee Vice-Chairperson
February was a positively busy month for me! We cannot let up in our engagement to get Democratic supporters to the polls in the November election.
I met with Michael Lynch to strategize on his messaging. I shared some of my career experiences of 40 years leading industrial technical sales teams. Michael agreed to ask more questions focused on connecting with voters and their specific concerns and issues.
I continue to serve as mentor to the Wexford County Democratic Party as they re-organize to become more engaged for the 2024 election cycle. They are making great progress under the leadership of Bill Allen.
I have been coordinating with the Elissa Slotkin campaign representatives in NW Michigan to ensure she knows there actually ARE Democrats living in rural Michigan.
I have been invited to lead a break-out session on Effective Advocating for Affordable Housing in Rural Michigan at the MDP Rural Caucus Rural Summit at the Shanty Creek Resort on April 11-13, 2024. I also want to thank the 2nd CD Committee for donating $1000 to support this summit.
We need to hear from all the County Democratic Party organizations in the 2nd CD about the availability of their campaign offices. This information will help our candidates coordinate their visits and maximize their ability to meet and greet voters in each county.
