MDP MI02 Vice Chairperson Report

•  I am also Chair of the Manistee County Democratic Party (MCDP) which held their regular monthly membership information meeting on June 15, 2023 at the Arcadia Township Hall in Arcadia, MI.  This meeting was our annual Strawberry Social that was attended by over 50 members and guests. • I am a Regional Vice Chair of the MDP Rural Caucus responsible for Manistee, Mason, Wexford, Oceana, and Lake counties.  I have been active in collaborating with the Rural Caucus in developing an active legislative lobbying committee that will be focused on improving communication and advocating for the specific issues of importance to rural Michigan voters.

Manistee Democratic Party showed up on the 4th of July with their county party to participate in the county's 4th of July parade! The 2nd CD officers were also invited to walk in the parade and accepted. Peggy Raddatz had a special convertible car that she drove in with her name and the title " Legacy Award Winner 2023" on both doors! Thanks again to the Manistee County Democrats for having such a wonderful event that thousands showed up for! It seems like everyone in the county knows John Helge! I personally saw people reaching out from the sidewalk to shake his hand and talk to him. Great job to John for keeping in touch with your county, the citizens care about you and it shows!
